Idaho Scenic Images latest news

Well it's been awhile since I did one of these news posts, so I have probably forgot plenty of whats happened over the last few months...

Fresh in my mind- I am one of the newest members of the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce

I am starting out by providing them with some images for their 2010 publications, and am hoping it will be a long and productive association.

As we enter the holiday season,
I thougth I'd share this image of my hometown.

I feel it perfectly captures the transition from Fall to Winter and the anticipation of Christmas.

I attended the open house and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Kootenai Cancer Center in Post Falls on Nov. 7th.

What a beautiful facility!
The 15 pieces of art that I have hanging there are in good company with beautiful sculptures, paintings and a few other photographers work.
The building itself is quite artistic.

Watch for this image in the December issue of Spokane-CDA Living Magazine.

I believe it's being used as the
"Why we live here" image on the last page.

I donated a 2010 North Idaho Scenics Calendar to the employee Christmas Party auction for the City of Coeur d'Alene.

Auction items can be bid on by the public and are available for viewing at City Hall.
I have just a couple of these left.
If you are still interested, contact me ASAP!

I recently joined the NPN(Nature Photographers Network) and probably should have done it sooner. I will have a small portfolio with them, but if what they say rings true.... they get seen by a lot of the right clients.
Now I just need to figure out what to sew my membership patch onto.

I am looking forward to attending the "Love your Lake" book Gala for the Lengendary Lake Pend Oreille book by Jane Fritz, which comes out at the end of the month and includes an assortment of my images.

(I'm not saying these are in the book..I haven't recieved my usage statement as of yet.)

I discovered a fabulous chocolate shop that anyone in
Coeur d'Alene needs to try called Coeur d'Alene Chocolates. These delicious confections are also beautiful works of Art.

While you're there...check out Edena's Gallery of Art. They feature Edena and a variety of local and regional artists including me
 as of Saturday, Nov. 21st.

Come to the Open House on Saturday Dec. 5th from 1-4pm!
3650 N. Government Way

This ands others available to license for your
Christmas Card with a hometown feel!

Whitefish and More....

Last time I posted, I was feeling cheated out of fall colors, but luckily, not all was lost of the autumn season. The tamaracks cooperated and I did find a few tucked away patches of color that had been spared the freezing temps.

In mid October I traveled to Whitefish, Montana to take my beautiful nieces' senior photos. Not my usual type of photography, it was a very sucessful shoot, and I enjoyed the scenery tremendously. Driving by Flathead Lake, the water was glassy calm and covered in a combination of smoke and clouds that gave a surreal appearance.

The snowcapped Mission Mountains were stunningly beautiful...

In the pre-dawn light we happened upon the historic Southern Pacific Daylight 4449 at the Whitefish station. On its return to Portland, Oregon after a cross country excursion, I had no idea of it's significance until looking it up when I got home.

We used this old truck as a prop in some of the senoir photos,
but it has also turned into a popular art print.

A new item I've been trying out are desktop wallpapers
...there are about 12 of them so far.
Some better than others.

You may check them out and download for free.
The gallery password is 449fans (I had 449 facebook fans when I first posted them)

You can follow me on facebook for the fasting postings of recent images.

Here are a few of my beautiful niece Kaitlyn, who made it way too easy to take good photos.

I do plan on taking clients in the Coeur d'Alene area for the class of 2011 - starting summer 2010.  Watch for info on my website coming in spring if you know anyone who would be interested. I plan on being very competitive and offering a unique senoir package.

Hoping to post again soon with some other news and photos...I know I have gotten way behind.. Have great Thanksgiving!
